Diversity at Orbit Design refers to all the characteristics that make individuals different from each other. This includes characteristics or factors such as religion, race, ethnic origin, language, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other potential factor of difference.
Orbit Design understands that the wide range of experiences and perspectives resulting from such diversity promotes innovation and business success. Diversity in our workplace makes us creative, productive, responsive, competitive and creates value for the company.
We are opposed to any form of unlawful and unfair discrimination. All employees whether part-time, full-time or temporary will be treated fairly and with respect. When Orbit Design selects candidates for employment it is on the basis of their skills, abilities and merit.
Orbit Design is committed to:
Our staff of 60 people are 90% Thai (a mixture of Thai, Thai-Chinese, and Thai-Muslim). Our non-Thai staff include citizens of Britain, Australia, Japan, U.S.A, Canada, and Sudan. 50% of our staff are women. 33% of our board is female.
We recognize the need to protect the environment and to use resources in a way that provides for future generations. Additionally, we appreciate the role that the built environment can play in the health and wellbeing of individual occupants and visitors. As such, we aim to develop & maintain a high standard of environmental awareness and, where possible, influence the built environment through the design and implementation of environmentally friendly solutions.
In our design - Orbit’s greatest contribution to sustainability and wellbeing is through the design and construction of our Client’s projects. We have in-house Sustainable Design and Construction experts and can provide full LEED, EDGE and WELL certification services. Regardless of whether or not a Client wishes to have their project certified, Orbit uses the LEED and WELL rating systems as guiding principles for all our projects.
Our policy is to ensure that each project we work on, from an interior design perspective, could be LEED certified. Orbit offers optional consulting services for Sustainable Building Certification and/or coordination with a Client’s third party certification manager for a fee, but we do not charge additional fees for sustainable design because we feel it is our duty and privilege to provide design services that contribute to a more sustainable world.
In our operations - As part of our ongoing self-improvement efforts Orbit is currently in the process of completing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certification. Part of this process involves reviewing our own internal operational policies to ensure that they align with our company’s vision, mission and objectives while responding to the needs of our Clients. Orbit has recently begun the certification processes for both the ISO 14001 for Environmental Management Systems and ISO 19650 for Organization and Digitization of Information (BIM).
We have a Code of Conduct which underpins our behaviour and the behaviours of everyone engaged by us and the people and companies we work with.
We insist on honesty, integrity and fairness in all aspects of our business and expect the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct to be maintained in all its activities. We expect the same in return from all who we work with.
We will not engage in bribery or corruption in any form and we have a zero tolerance approach to breach whether it involves partners, our employees, companies, clients or public officials.
