Stockholm is a wonderful mix of sophisticated urban life mixed with a deep love and appreciation of nature. This 'Urban cafe meets forest' concept guided the full floor renovation for a team of 130. Improved acoustics, a vibrant cafe/town hall, mix of workspaces and warm welcome were all part of the wishlist.
We brought the vibrancy and buzz of a city cafe and paired that with natural materials and finishes that echo the country. The reception area, though small and compact has a bold black marble desk sitting in contrast to the perforated Oak wood wrapping around it. The raw concrete floor finish is carried onto the one wall which has a product display niche sculpted into it. Exposed precast concrete ceilings and galvanised metal ductwork in the OC area gives an honest, industrial look, which contrasts nicely with the limed-Oak wood flooring. A painted mural on 2 walls created by a famous Swedish artist, Finsta, anchors the space, with the loose furniture adding punches of colour.
This vibrancy carries on into the office space, with forest-inspired graphics applied to both dry walls and in a more abstract way, on the manifestation film on meeting room glazing. The final, natural touch is a thoughtful selection of plants and green wall to bring the space to life.
